We landed in Tenerife North. I searched for rented company very hard. All tome the same picture – cheap car and then – give fortune for insurance. Or another way – cheap car, big deposit and ups….you will not receive your deposit anymore, because company will find smallest scratches, not visible spots and will fraud you.

CiCar! Its the only normal way on Canarias. This is local company with normal prices, included insurance!!! No one shows you scratches before, no one ask after. All included! No deposit! Its a miracle!  You pay only for gasoline in your tank. If its half tank on – for half tank. If nothing – nothing. Money will be returned or not at last day. Depends of quantity of gasoline you return.

My first shock was about the Tenerife roads. As i imagine it must be one circular road good quality and many gravel roads…. Yes. I came from the Moon! People can do impossible things! I don’t know how many thousands of kilometers of perfect roads are on Tenerife. 20 000? 50 000? Gasoline less than 1 Euro. No payment for roads, for parking, for entrances, for toilets!!!!!  Free!!! Everything is best quality and free….. No. It cannot be like this. We are in Paradise….

Ok. Our way is to Lidl to buy food. A lot of food, because it will be 3 days of holidays – Christmas. We spent 45 minutes, bought 2 huge trolleys of different kinds of fish, moriscoes, fruits, cheese, jamons, delicious small things, vine, Ron ext. Awful amount. At least 20 kg of fish, calamari’s, king shrimps ext….. Everything that need and not need for 6 persons who are like to eat all time during the day. Sometimes at night. 530 euros.

So, ahead to Los Silos.
We are live in personal house.

Los Silos is sleeping small city. And we are in sleeping small house. We have 3 bedrooms. Not big. And huge open terrace. Its even possible to see mountains from it. And all barbecue equipment is on the terrace. We are happy!
Outdoor temperature fall dawn. Sunset at 6-30. 7pm its dark.
Eat.

Sleep.

7am its dark. Only few clouds are pink. Time to eat fish and shrimps with yogurt….

At first we will visit Garachico – an excellent small city just 6 km from us. It has black beach, modern sculpture Sea Gates ( i call them like this), natural pools ( closed), restaurants and cafes everywhere, El Porte del Terra and volcanic lava.

In 1709 mount Negra burst into lava river and smashed the biggest port and city on the island. The richest city escaped and never more in the history was important. Inly charming. But not important. The only remains of its glory – stone Gate of the Earth, deeply sunken in the earth.

Bath in the ocean. Only one person. Not cold for him. Not good for me.

Time to visit Arena Negras and make a circle around Chinyero volcano.

We are going through Canaries pine forest. Then its gravel road and sign – no pedestrians, no bicycles. Only by car…. Strange.

One km before rest area we left the car and start hiking.
This trail is not difficult. Circular from the car about 12-14 km. Good quality, perfect marked.

First trail going only in the forest. Then Mount Negra appears. All in black volcanical sand. And few fragile green trees. And after few km Chinyero appears! In all his beauty! Last erupted volcano on Tenerife. 1909. Flow rivers of lava. Stop before Garachico. Uf… Lucky!

People made the pass to the crater of Chinyero. But we weren’t ready yet. This pass is not authorized, but once we will obviously go!

The weather is like usually weather in the mountains – little windy, warm on sun and little chilly in shadow.

We made the circle clockwise. Its no difference in which side to go. I like clockwise. And all signs are the same – circuit hike 5,7 km. Last quarter of the pass is lave trail. Here was the main flow of the lava which get to Garachico.  Its impossible pass without the trail. Its the full chaos of lava waves. They are sharp, unpredictable, with strange empty metallic sound.

We finished our first trekking. It was really beautiful. We met not more then 6-7 people by the way.

Evening was full of king shrimps and fish with Tom Yam soup.
