We are in camping.

The main local person is enormous grey cat. He is lazy.

There are 5-6 caravan cars and only one car with tented people… We put on our tents.  Toilet and shower are near. There is hot water. In camping cafe prepare perfect pizza and it’s nice view on hill.

This night was chilly. May be zero….

In the morning we entered Arezzo. I had a list with highlights.

Church of San Dominic. Old basilica type. As usual in Italy just old and bricks outside. Nothing special. But inside. No nefs. In altar part huge cross if Cimabue. It’s early 13 century. It’s beginning of Renessanse. The cross is magnificent beauty.  The paints are glossy and bright. There are also few frescoes. But the main sing is the cross.

Our next point is Vasaris House. We didn’t visit Rafael House in Urbino, PdF House in Sansepolcro, because internet didn’t advise them as something interesting. And I also not excited with houses of famous people. There are some excludes. Sir Walter Scott House for example.
So, we went to Vasaris House. It’s had a lot of room. They are not huge. Just ordinary size. Without any furniture. But a lot of wall and ceiling frescoes and little bit of pictures. One room has four sails. Here was the portrait of Vasary,s wife. Next room has small Medichi portrait gallery. Last one was painted from floor till ceiling. It was excellent!

 

And we get into small garden with perfect view on the roofs of Arezzo. In the garden was huge rude cat. He allowed take him on laps. His fur was shiny. He was the only one person, who really live on this house and to whom this house belong.

To watch cycle of frescoes of PdF in city’s Basilica we made reservation.

We had spare time for walking up and down on the streets.  City is very hilly!  Main square is weird. It’s hemisphere. If it would be cover with ice or butter nobody can stay on its cobbled surface!
From one side it’s the raw of perfect coffees.
Because I suppose to be in Sunny Italy I am very cold now…. It’s windy. When we sit to take a dinner, I asked about blanket. After not modest dinner I asked to sell me this blanket. Waiter was shocked but said that it’s a present. I asked about second present for ours friends.
Today we can sleep again in tents.

Cycle of frescoes was beautiful. I know the Legend about the Cross, but never them see before. That why I was confused and cannot understand what really I see. Near the door I found full information who was where on frescoes. I was satisfied.

We were tiered, cold and wanted return into the camping.

Immoderately after arriving I asked about small walk to the neighbor hill to observe the castle. Resistance was short. I win and we walked. Castle was just in 2 km walk on the top of the hill. It was abandoned, but not long time before. Few years before. It was completely locked. No chances. It was small, with two ranges of walls. I look into the hole. Nobody inside.

We walked around and slowly descent through the vineyards and beside the olive groves.

In the evening we ate delicious pizza in camps restaurant.

This night due to blankets was much warmer. But my friends and my husband don’t want to stay in the tents any more….
