Day 7.  

 

I waked up early. And made small walk. There I found camping in charming and quiet place, near one of the best in Iceland golf club. Fresh air. Nice place. Better then to stay in guest house. 

 

After breakfast we explore new part of island and ascend on new volcano Eldfell. The view from volcano worth to get the top! Volcano is still hot! And again slops are multicolored. 

 

We tried to organize the fishing but here it’s impossible. 

 

The dinner in one of the central hotels was not very expensive. 100 Euros for 4 persons with lobster soup, catch of the day, bottle of vine and coffee. 

 

After we ride to the edge if island were colony of puffins nested. 

But here puffins are afraid if people, because puffin menu is very common…

 

Day 7.  

 

Morning ferry to Main Land. 

And then Skogarfoss. 

 

To realize the beauty if this waterfall which is near Eyjafjatlojokull it’s need to go up from right side as far as possible by day time. There are numerous passes inland, but they need lodging. We came along the river only 4 km and 4 km return. There are numerous waterfalls and mysterious gorge  with green moss. 

 

By the way we passed fields with grass, sheeps and horses. All time we saw glaciers on left side.  

 

Our next point was Svartifoss. This waterfall is most romantic in Iceland. It’s inside the national park with numerous possibilities to make trekking.  But parking and camping were full of people! Hundreds of cards! So, we only walked to waterfall. It’s look like as natural organ in the church. Basalt columns different size and tiny waterfall. 

 

In few km we found campsite. With all facilities as usual – hot shiver, fully equipped kitchen ext. 

 

Day 8.  

 

We are on road 1. Just cut little bit, tried to do fishing. Nothing as usual. 

 

Our point is Dettifoss and lake Myvatn. This is long way. 

 

Do Dettifoss we arrived at 6pm. From west side. It was right decision.  Sun shine from left side and two rainbows appeared! Before Dettifoss there are basalt cubics and rest of columns. 

 

And Dettufoss is a dangerous miracle! It’s so huge and strong! With grey and brown water. We saw so huge waterfall only on Blur Nile in Ethiopia. 

It’s possible to do trekking along the river but it was evening time, we had no place for overnight and did not eat from early morning. So, we only took a look on Sellfoss, also charming waterfall, but no so big. 

 

 

By the way to Myvatn we stopped mead fumaroles field. It’s multicolor with pools, which boil, steams and smell if sulfur. 

 

Camsite near Myvatn was full again. We found place on the top of mountain with lake view. Here are special places for tents, but without any numbers.  It was very windy but not cold. Just fresh at evening time.
