Wooden Church in Alexandrovka village. Ukraine. may – 2008
Дата 2 December 2010

Church of Sts. Mikola is located in the village Kraynikovo. Built in 1665.

Church serving the Greek-Catholic.

Church – a small, traditionally oriented – the altar at East side.
The porch is closed with small scalloped windows. The entrance door is decorated with a wide casing with solar relief.

In Babtistery there are stairs to the second floor. In the right corner is composed overlapping shingles to the roof.

Proper prayer room survived quite well. Altar wall not covered. At the top there are visible ancient paintings. Their state is very bad.

Around the Tzar and Deacon’s Gate there are  also preserved mural painting. This are images of the saints.

In altar side is a large stone. Murals on the walls survived, but their condition is much worse than on the altar wall. Many guessed only graphically.

The church is located in a small garden among the huge, centuries-old oaks.

At the entrance to the church in the grass can be seen a few stone crosses.

The church itself is very picturesque, especially surrounded by trees. The north side of the roof covered with moss, with  mushrooms! Unfortunately, the north side is almost always in the shadows, with moss dripping wet, which does not have time to dry. Shingles on the north side of the roof are in catastrophic condition.

Keys of the church can be taken at grandfather, who lives nearby . Grandfather is very old, 92 years old. Previously, he sang in the choir. Fought during the WW11. Walk is difficult to him, so you better drive up to him by car, take him to church and give him back home again.

The church is visited by tourists not only from Ukraine, but also from near and far abroad.
